| Description |
English: Peat Harvesting. Peat "Milling" starts by dividing the bog into 15m wide fields with drains on either side. Each year 1 cm is cut or "milled", turned to dry out "harrowing", collected into a ridge then harvested into a stockpile totalling 800,000 tons. The peat is transported to the power station (seen in the distance) by trains (rakes) taking 95 tons at a time. |
