Title
English: Pay Streak at Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition, Seattle, 1909
Description
English:

Visitors to the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition crowded to the concessions on the Pay Streak. Here they could enjoy exciting rides, visit a reconstruction of the Streets of Cairo, buy snacks at the Tokio Cafe, and look at native people of the Philippines in a reconstructed village. The Pay Streak was named after concentrated streaks of gold or other valuable ore. This photo shows a section of the Pay Streak at the Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition in 1909. The building underneath the balloon was a public "comfort station" (rest room).

Embossed on mount: Harwood. Handwritten on verso: A.Y.P. 1909. Caption by MOHAI staff.
