Tweede prent uit een serie van serie van 4 prenten met op elke prent 1 omkaderde lithografie met tekst eronder, over de liefde tussen een blank meisje en een blanke jongen die begin 18e eeuw samen opgroeien in een Franse kolonie. De afbeelding toont Paul en Virginie, die worden gedragen door vier zwarte personen. Ze zijn op de terugweg nadat ze vergiffenis hebben gekregen voor een mishandelde negerin. Met tekst in Nederlands en Frans.
