Eerste prent uit een serie van serie van 4 prenten met op elke prent 1 omkaderde lithografie met tekst eronder, over de liefde tussen een blank meisje en een blanke jongen die begin 18e eeuw samen opgroeien in een Franse kolonie. De afbeelding toont twee jonge kinderen met hun moeders en een trouwe zwarte huisknecht in Madagaskar. Onder de afbeelding een tekst in Nederlands en Frans.
