Summary

[edit]
Description
Deutsch: Der deutsche Chemiker und Reformpädagoge Dr. phil. nat. Paul Reiner (* 3. November 1912 in München), in Eppenhain (Taunus), Großherzogtum Hessen.
English: The German chemist and progressive educator Dr. Paul Reiner (* 3 February, 1886 at Bleiweishof (farm) near Nuremberg, Middle Franconia, Kingdom of Bavaria; † 2 November, 1932 in Zurich, Switzerland) with one (Eva Maria, * 1919 or Ruth Elisabeth, * 1922) of his four daughters on the terrace of the country house in Eppenhain (Taunus), Grand Duchy of Hesse, owned by his mother-in-law Philippine Hochschild, née Ellinger (born on 7 July, 1859 in Frankfurt am Main, Grand Duchy of Hesse; deceased on 28 December, 1931 ibid.), widow of the merchant Zachary Hochschild (born on 16 May, 1854 in Biblis, Province Starkenburg, Grand Duchy of Hesse; deceased on 6 November, 1912 in Munich, Kingdom of Bavaria). The baby either may be Paul Reiner's second daughter Eva Maria (* 1919) or his third daughter Ruth Elisabeth (* 1922) so the date of the picture refers to the baby and the estimated age of its father. The visible part of the building on the right belongs to the semicircular extension of the country house with balcony on top as can be recognized in the shadow on the ground. In the background behind the tree the bowling hall of the estate is recognizable.
