Notes
  • Kornfeld 30 ABC; Guérin 40
  • Carved on the verso of the woodblock used for Guérin 36. In the middle is the head and upper body of Teha'amana in Gauguin's oil painting Manao tupapau (The Spirit of the Dead Keep Watch). To the left there was a portion of Te poipoi (Morning) with the squatting woman and to the right a representation of a standing woman on a beach (Frèches-Thory p.345). Gauguin cut the paper into indvidual scenes or the leftmost pair. This is the only impression showing all three scenes.
