Русский: Генерал Джордж Паттон–младший, командующий Третьей армией США на Европейском ТВД, навещает своего зятя, подполковника Джона Уотерса, освобожденного из немецкого плена. Армейский госпиталь Уолтера Рида, Вашингтон. По мнению некоторых историков, одной из причин, по которой Паттон так рвался со своей армией на еще не занятую союзниками территорию Германии, было то, что муж его дочери Беатрис, подполковник Джон Уотерс, находился в одном из немецких концентрационных лагерей, попав в плен еще во время боев в Северной Африке.
