Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Virupaksha Temple. Pattadakal, Karnataka

Virupaksha and its "sister" temple, Mallikarjuna, were built c. 745 by two sisters, queens of Vikramaditya II (733-746). The two may be compared to see just how alike two temples can be. One difference is that Virupaksha's tower has a square top, while the top of Mallikarjuna is a dome.
