Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Patrick Miller of Dalswinton an Edinburgh banker, experimented with this pleasure steamer. A trial in 1788 was completely successful, and William Symington’s original engine was used as the motive power. The paddle-wheels were enclosed by semicircular boxes and placed between the two hulls of the vessel. The engine stood on one side of the twin deck and the boiler beneath the other deck. In addition to the steam engine, Miller’s ship had two masts equipped with sails.
