Description
English: Artistic style Pashupati temple in Bhaktapur Durbar complex. This temple is called Yaksheshwar Mahadev Temple as it was built by Yaksha Malla. Inside the temple of this Mahadev, there is a statue of Panchmukhi Mahadev in the famous Pashupatinath temple of Kathmandu. Guthi has been arranged for the daily worship of this temple. Devotees flock to this temple on the great Hindu festival of Mahashivaratri. According to legend, in ancient times, the king of Duwakot forbade Yaksha Malla to go to the Pashupati temple in Kathmandu, so Yaksha Malla built the Pashupati temple in Bhaktapur.
