Description entre la rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud et la rue Saint-Maur. Le nom de la "fonderie" correspond aux anciennes activités industrielles et artisanales liées au métal qui caractérisaient tout le quartier, surtout réputé pour ses fonderies de cuivre et de fer. Dans ce passage construit à la fin du Second Empire, les immeubles sont bas et la ruelle étroite est encore pavée. L’ensemble a été rénové en 1990 et l'enseigne des anciens établissements de seringues Julien a été repeinte, rappelant les anciennes activités, qui pour la plupart disparaissent des mémoires, comme la grande imprimerie de 1000 m2 qui était située au 8-10 passage de la Fonderie, ou les ateliers de pièces industrielles du numéro 6, qui existaient encore en 1986.
