Español: La estatua está orientada hacia España y presenta dos inscripciones; una con la traducción al inglés de la cita atribuida a ella «Más vale morir de pie que vivir de rodillas» y en el zócalo (que es una viga de hierro), una que reza -también en inglés-: La ciudad de Glasgow y el Movimiento Laborista Británico rinden tributo al coraje de los hombres y mujeres que fueron a España a luchar contra el fascismo. 1936-1939. 2100 voluntarios fueron de Gran Bretaña, 534 murieron, 65 de los cuales eran de Glasgow. |
