Description
English: Rear Adm. Richard Wren, Commander Naval Forces Japan, Vice Adm. John Bird, Commander of U.S. 7th Fleet, Vice Adm. M. Sugimoto, Commander in Chief Self Defense Fleet, Mr. Nobuyuki Masuda, president of the Mikasa preservation association, Secretary of the Navy (SECNAV) the Honorable Ray Mabus, and Administrative Vice Minister of Defense Kimito Nakae cut a cake during a reception commemorating the historic partnership between Fleet Adm. Chester Nimitz and Adm. Heihachiro Togo. USS Nimitz (CVN 68) Sailors participated in a community service project to paint the Mikasa earlier this week. Nimitz and embarked Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 11 are currently deployed to promote peace, regional cooperation and stability in the Western-Pacific region.
