The partial solar eclipse at Bosscha Observatory, Lembang, occurred on April 20th, 2023, due to the Moon's trajectory blocking the Sun's light. Despite up to 40% blocking, the Sun remains bright, making a solar filter necessary for observation.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: The partial solar eclipse via the Bosscha Observatory, Lembang on April 20 2023 is a phenomenon caused by the Moon's path between the Earth and the Sun. The Moon blocks the Sun's light and causes the Sun to appear cut out when viewed through a telescope equipped with a solar filter. Even though the Sun's light is blocked by up to 40%, the Sun still appears bright and can be dazzling when seen with the naked eye, so a solar filter is still needed to observe a partial solar eclipse. The results of his work were taken with the help of astronomical observation tools, namely the Vixen VMC200L Telescope; Sun Filter; eyepiece 40mm; Lumix DMC-G85 Camera; 14-42mm lens; Aperture f6.3; Shutter Speed 1/20; ISO 200.
