Die Graphen darüber zeigen den geothermischen Gradient (rot) und die Soliduskurve des Gesteins (grün). Wenn die zwei Kurven einander schneiden, entsteht durch partielles Aufschmelzen des Gesteins Magma. A) die Kurven schneiden sich nicht - kein Magma entsteht B) an Mittelozeanischen Rücken entsteht Magma in geringer Tiefe aufgrund einer hohen Temperatur und geringer Lithosphärendicke C) über Mantelplumes entsteht Magma in größerer Tiefe aufgrund noch höherer Temperaturen aber größerer Lithosphärendicke D) über abtauchenden Lithosphärenplatten in Subduktionszonen entsteht Magma in größerer Tiefe aufgrund einer Herabsetzung der Schmelztemperatur durch Fluide, die aus der abtauchenden Platte entweichen |
