Summary

[edit]
Description

English: Partheni is a small village on the southern fringes of the giant karsticTripoli-Plateau” (not drained plain=polje), Peloponnese, Greece. Today it is part of the municipality of Tripoli, which is the capital of Arcadia. As in all towns of the Peloponnese very many Greeks migrated to the USA and Australia – the population of the Peloponnese decreased drastically, especially in the decades after 1950. The village square with its large platanus tree is a vivid symbol of the development.
