Description

Das Graseck-Gebiet liegt nahe Garmisch-Partenkirchen etwas oberhalb zwischen der Olympia-Ski-Schanze und der Partnach-Klamm. Man kann zu Fuß dorthin gelangen oder die inzwischen etwas in die Jahre gekommene Graseck-Seilbahn benutzen. Die Gesamtlänge der Pendelbahn beträgt etwa 500 m und überwindet einen Höhenunterschied von 118 Metern.

Diese Graseck-Seilbahn ist eine seilbahntechnisch bedeutende Anlage, gilt sie doch als erste vollautomatische Kabinen-Seilbahn weltweit. Initiator der Anlage war der Gastwirt August Belstler, der seine beiden gastronomischen Betriebe am Eingang zur Partnach-Klamm und in Graseck verbinden wollte. Sie ging 1953 erstmals in Betrieb. Die beiden kleinen Kabinen können je bis zu vier Personen befördern.
