Description
Português: A atual Igreja de Nossa Senhora do Carmo foi palco de grandes acontecimentos históricos desde a transferência da família real portuguesa e de sua corte para o Brasil, ocorrida em decorrência da invasão napoleônica a Portugal em 1807. Em 1808, tendo o Rio de Janeiro como sede do governo português, a Igreja foi batizada de Capela Real, iniciando um período enriquecedor para a música erudita brasileira e seu desenvolvimento, já que a Capela contava com um corpo de cantores e instrumentistas de excelência, que se aprimoraram ainda mais por meio do intercâmbio com músicos estrangeiros que chegavam a cidade. A arquitetura rococó do edifício ajudou a abrilhantar a celebração de inúmeros eventos notáveis, dentre os quais podemos destacar:

- A consagração de D. João VI (1818), rei do Reino Unido de Portugal, Brasil e Algarves.

- A recepção de D. Leopoldina, princesa da Áustria e esposa de D. Pedro I.

- A coroação de D. Pedro I (1822) e D. Pedro II (1840), imperadores do Brasil.

- O casamento da princesa Isabel com o francês Gastão de Orléans, Conde d'Eu.

Desta forma, a igreja permanece imortalizada na história do Brasil e de Portugal, merecendo o seu reconhecimento.
English: The current Church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo was the scene of great historical events since the transfer of the Portuguese royal family and their court to Brazil, which occurred due to the Napoleonic invasion of Portugal in 1807. In 1808, having Rio de Janeiro as the thirst of the Portuguese government, the Church was named Royal Chapel, beginning an enriching period for Brazilian classical music and its development, since the chapel had a body of singers and instrumentalists of excellence, who improved even more through exchange with foreign musicians arriving in the city. The building's rococo architecture helped to beautify the celebration of numerous notable events, among which can be highlighted:

- The consecration of D. João VI (1818), king of the United Kingdom of Portugal, Brazil and Algarves.

- The reception of D. Leopoldina, princess of Austria and wife of D. Pedro I.

- The coronation of D. Pedro I (1822) and D. Pedro II (1840), emperors of Brazil.

- Princess Isabel's marriage to Gastão de Orléans, Count d'Eu.

In this way, the church remains immortalized in the history of Brazil and Portugal, deserving its recognition.
Español: La actual Iglesia de Nossa Senhora do Carmo fue escenario de grandes acontecimientos históricos desde el traslado de la familia real portuguesa y su corte a Brasil, que se produjo debido a la invasión napoleónica de Portugal en 1807. En 1808, teniendo a Río de Janeiro como sede del gobierno portugués, la Iglesia fue nombrada Capilla Real, iniciando un período enriquecedor para la música clásica brasileña y su desarrollo, ya que la capilla contaba con un cuerpo de cantantes e instrumentistas de excelencia, que mejoraron aún más a través del intercambio con músicos extranjeros que llegaban al ciudad. La arquitectura rococó del edificio ayudó a embellecer la celebración de numerosos eventos notables, entre los que se pueden destacar:

- La consagración de D. João VI (1818), rey del Reino Unido de Portugal, Brasil y Algarves.
