Description |
English: Spherical image of the interior chamber of the Lincoln Memorial, which includes a columned entrance, statue of Abraham Lincoln seated, several visitors, and someone mopping the floor. Part of the D.C. landscape since 1922, the Lincoln Memorial is on the west end of the National Mall with a clear view all the way to the U.S. Capitol. A few million people visit the memorial each year to see the statue of the 16th president after climbing the stairs to reach the chamber. Two of his most famous speeches, the Gettysburg Address and his second inaugural speech are on the interior walls.
