Opis vrste

Po mnogima naš najlepši leptir. Lako se može prepoznati po veličini i tipičnom klizećem letu, ali i po crvenim tufnama koje upozoravaju grabljivce da je otrovan. Smatra se ugroženim jer je iz mnogih oblasti iščezao zbog uništavanja staništa. I kod nas i u Evropi je izrazito lokalan, sreće se samo na planinskim kamenjarima.

Status zaštite vrste

Direktiva o staništima EU - Annex IV; Pravilnik o proglašenju i zaštiti strogo zaštićenih i zaštićenih divljih vrsta biljaka, životinja i gljiva: Prilog I Strogo zaštićene divlje vrste biljaka, životinja i gljiva; CITES Konvencija o međunarodnom prometu ugroženih vrsta divlje faune i flore
