Kessasking for an immediate remittarof $10,000. Forty blinded soldiiwho had received six months traing in blind trades at Reuilly hi pital, according to M. Brieux, w(about to be discharged from the ;stitution because their place v\needed for others. All these foiblinded men lacked money, tooraw materials, and places in whito make and sell their products. Lless something was done for the!they would apparently be reduced!begging. The $10,000 was cab)to M. Brieux at once. In addition to the $150,000 rece;ly sent by the A. B. F. B. fundIts French committee, $50,000 valso sent to the funds Englcommittee in aid of the wcfor the blind soldiers and ators at St. Dunstans. Frank A. Vanderlip, Otto H. Kahn,Edmund L. Baylies and George A. Kess-ler, comprising the finance committeeof the A. B. P. B. (American, British,French, Belgian) Permanent Blind Re-lief War Fund, have decided by unani-mous vote to cable the French commit-tee of the fund a guarantee of 200,000francs annually for five years. In thesame message they express the hopethat the fund will soon be able to in-crease the allowance and to extend theguarantee for an additional five or tenyears. Mr. Kessler has put at the disposalof the fund his home, at 24 and 26Avenue Raphael, Paris, which will saveit the expense for the time being ofrenting a central institution in Paris.The house and grounds, both large, areconsidered especially adapted to lieneeds of the blind. They are situatedin the Bois de Boulogne. A beautifulgarden is a feature. As soon as the col-lection of more monev will permit the fund intends leasing a permanentbuilding capable of including schools,workships and labor exchanges. The
