Français : Salle des Caryatides, pièce de réception des rois de France. Manifeste Renaissance, elle est l'œuvre de l'architecte catholique Pierre Lescot et du sculpteur protestant Jean Goujon qui s'est inspiré des caryatides de l'Érechthéion pour réaliser la tribune des musiciens en 1550. Dans cette salle sont rassemblées depuis 1692 des copies romaines de la sculpture hellénistique : Artémis à la biche dite Diane de Versailles, Hermaphrodite endormi dont le matelas de marbre est réalisé par Le Bernin, l'Écorcheur rustique. |
