Description
English: The parhelic circle and other halos by Petrus van Musschenbroek after Christiaan Huygens. According to this model, halos were to form in hollow ice cylinders with an opaque nucleus. Musschenbroeks treatise on physics contains a large chapter on meteorological phenomena and was published in many editions and several languages.
