Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Parasol mushroom (Lepiota procera) A large and impressive edible mushroom with a superb flavour. Commonly found on roadside verges, also at the edges of woods, as here in Sherwood Pines Forest Park. The caps are white at first but as they grow, the surface breaks into brown scales on a whitish background. This specimen, after being photographed, was taken home and eaten for tea!
