Description
Deutsch: Exemplar des Ammoniten Parapuzosia seppenradensis (LANDOIS 1895) aus der „Sandkalkbank“ der Hochmoos-Formation (Santon, Oberkreide), Finstergrabenwandl, Gosau, Oberösterreich, ausgestellt im Naturhistorischen Museum in Wien. Mit ca. 95 cm Durchmesser und 180 kg Gewicht handelt es sich um den zweitgrößten je in Österreich gefundenen Ammonit.
English: Specimen of the ammonite species Parapuzosia seppenradensis (LANDOIS 1895) from the “Sandkalkbank” (“sandy limestone bed”) of the Hochmoos formation (Santonian, Upper Cretaceous), Finstergrabenwandl site, Gosau municipality, Upper Austria, on display in the Vienna Natural History Museum. The specimen is 95 cm (~38 in) in diameter and weighs 180 kg (397 lbs) and is thus the second largest ammonite ever found in Austria.
