Description
Français : Paraita (1787-1865) chef de Pare, il sût se rendre indispensable à Pomare IV. Il avait auprès d’elle, le titre d’ ‘auvaha, c’est-à-dire de porte-parole ou d’orateur. Prenant souvent des décisions au nom de la jeune reine occupée à des fêtes, il joua le rôle de « régent ». Ce fut lui qui signa en septembre 1842 la pétition demandant le protectorat.
