Paracrine communication.

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Paracrine communication. This figure illustrates cell releasing a signaling molecule (red dots), that diffuses away, resulting in a decreasing concentration of red dots the further away we look from that cell. Other cells in the vicinity are exposed to this concentration of red dot, and these other cells may be responsive to red dots if it has a receptor for it (blue cells) but not if it doesn't (green cells).
