Notes signed piece of parachute silk received by donor from British ex POWs whom she nursed at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, in October-November 1945. Approximately 200 British servicemen came to New Zealand on 3 October 1945 aboard the hospital ship Tjitjalengka. They had been in Japanese POW camps (Singapore and Hong Kong) and recuperated in New Zealand before their return to the UK. After seven weeks in New Zealand they left aboard HMS Reaper for Sydney.
