Description

German WW2 Medium Tank Official designation:- Sd.Kfz 171 Panzerkampfwagen V ‘Panther’ Ausf.G Designer:- MAN AG Manufacturer:- MAN, Daimler-Benz, MNH Built:- 1943 to 1945 Total production:- 2,961 Main Armament:- 75mm KwK 42 L/70 gun The Panther is considered to be one of the best tanks of WW2 and was effectively a light-weight equivalent of the Tiger I. It had excellent firepower and protection while was also faster in open country and better over rough terrain. It was originally intended as an answer to the Soviet T-34 and to replace the Panzer III and Panzer IV. Over 6,000 of all models were built. On display in what is best known as Hall 5 of the Kubinka Tank Museum, although its official title is now Pavilion 5 in Area 2 of the Park Patriot museum. Kubinka, Moscow Oblast, Russia.
