Summary

[edit]
Description
English: An ancient Roman temple commissioned by the General Marcus Agrippa under the reign of EMperor Augustus (27 BC-14 AD) in Rome. It burned twice over the next century but was rebuilt by Emperor Hadrian in 126 AD to its current form. In 609 AD the building was given to the then Pope Boniface IV, who converted it into a church, and this probably saved the building from being destroyed, and leaving us with the marvel we see today.
