Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Pant Lladron - thieves' hollow Pant Lladron was a great place to 'hel llus' - gather bilberries/ whortle berries. During the period of post-war austerity bilberries provided a useful addition to the diet and young and old would spend days gathering the small blue-black berries. Unfortunately, Pant Lladron was across the watershed from Deiniolen and going there was a foray into 'enemy' territory likely to be repulsed by gurriers from nearby Rhiwlas village. It was always wise to resort to principle of safety in numbers. Many a tussle we had with Rhiwlas lads. Nowadays, the berries largely go unharvested, and most local kids would not know where Pant Lladron is or even what a bilberry looks like.
