Español: Panel informativo junto al molino de Villa Acacia, bomba de agua del siglo XIX accionada por la fuerza del viento, modelo Aermotor de Chicago, reubicado en el paraje natural de la desembocadura del río Guadalhorce, Málaga, España.

En el panel puede leerse lo siguiente:

Viento e ingenio en beneficio de la naturaleza

Este molino tiene una larga historia. Ya en el siglo XIX estaba ubicado en el colegio de los Jesuitas en la barriada de El Palo (Málaga). En 1907 lo adquirió un ingeniero de ferrocarriles para sacar agua del pozo de su casa también en el Palo. Durante casi veinte años, su propietario empleó tiempo e ingenio para amoldar la maquinaria a la impredecible fuerza del viento.

Estuvo en funcionamiento hasta la década de los años 60, cuando el agua del pozo dejó de ser potable. Su rueda de aspas, que se posicionaba perpendicularmente a la dirección del viento por la acción de una veleta, fascinó a los vecinos durante más de un siglo.

Un nieto del anterior propietario, desde los años 70 viene visitando este paraje natural y admirando la rica avifauna que lo puebla. Su respeto por la naturaleza y sobre todo su afición a la ornitología ha propiciado la donación de este molino para un uso medioambiental.

La recuparación del mismo contribuirá a conservar este ecosistema utilizando fuentes de energía renovables, como es la fuerza del viento, para abastecer de agua a charcas y lagunas.
