Summary
[edit]DescriptionPanavia Tornado F3 (28758915977).jpg |
The Panavia Tornado is a multirole combat aircraft with two engines and a variable-sweep wing, It was jointly developed and manufactured by the United Kingdom, Italy and West Germany. This particular aircraft, operated by the Royal Air Force, was seen when visiting RAF Gibraltar for Exercise Southern Flame. One year after this photo was taken this aircraft was withdrawn from use and scrapped- as were several others. At that time it was planned to phase them out completely by 2019. That has not yet completely happened to all Tornados as a need for the GR 4 version continues to occur. |
