Summary
[edit]DescriptionPan view over the Derwent of windfarm and mountains - geograph.org.uk - 939517.jpg |
English: Pan view over the Derwent of windfarm and mountains From my home in Seaton, north of the river Derwent with a wintry view looking SE across to the houses of Stainburn opposite with a rather conspicuous new wind farm behind. All is backed by grand Lakeland Mountains. The deep valley between has been formed by the river Derwent which gathers its water from those mountains and five major lakes; Buttermere, Crummock water, Loweswater, Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake. All this water is disgorged at Workington's harbour and estuary into the Irish Sea only 2km to the right of the photo. |
