Description
Italiano: Palazzo Civico: la sede del Comune era originariamente ubicata nei pressi della Cattedrale (XIII secolo) e solo in seguito si sentì la necessità di collocarla in un luogo più vicino al centro economico e commerciale della Città, stabilendone la sede nel Palazzo del Podesta di via Incisa. Successivamente si sentì l'esigenza di trovare spazi e locali più ampi: la nuova sede nella piazza del Santo Patrono, che ospita ancor'oggi il Comune, fu offerta da Emanuele Filiberto di Savoia nel 1558 ma l'edificio di stile medievale versava in cattive condizioni ed a causa della mancanza di fondi, venne impedita la ristrutturazione e quindi l'utilizzo; solo nel 1727, la struttura fu radicalmente trasformata grazie agli interventi attuati dall'architetto Benedetto Alfieri.
