കണ്ണൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ നടുവിൽ പഞ്ചായത്തിൽ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന സ്ഥലമാണ് പാലക്കയംതട്ട്. പശ്ചിമഘട്ടമലനിരകൾ ഉൾപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ പ്രദേശം പരിസ്ഥിതി ദുർബല പ്രദേശം കൂടിയാണ്. അപൂർവയിനം ഔഷധസസ്യങ്ങളും പക്ഷികളും ജീവജാലങ്ങളും ഈ പ്രദേശത്തുണ്ട് . പാലക്കായ് മരം തട്ട് ആണ് പിന്നീട് പാലക്കയം തട്ട് ആയതെന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നു.[അവലംബം ആവശ്യമാണ്] നടുവിൽ ടൗണിൽ നിന്ന് മണ്ടളം ജംഗ്ഷൻ വഴി പാലക്കയംതട്ടിലെത്താം. തളിപ്പറമ്പുനിന്നും കൂർഗ് പാതയിൽ 28 കിലോമീറ്റർ അകലെയാണ് പാലക്കയം തട്ട്. കൂർഗ് പാതയിൽ കാഞ്ഞിരങ്ങോട്, ചപ്പാരപ്പടവ് വഴി നടുവിൽ എത്താം. അവിടെ നിന്ന് ഇടത്തോട്ട് തിരിഞ്ഞ് മണ്ടലം എന്ന സ്ഥലത്തുനിന്നും 5 കിമി കയറ്റം കയറണം പാലക്കയത്ത് എത്തുവാൻ. പലരും ജീപ് സർവീസ് ആണ് ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നതെങ്കിലും ഒരുവിധം എല്ലാ ഇടത്തരം-ചെറു വാഹനങ്ങളും പാലക്കയം വരെ എത്തും.हिन्दी: पलक्कयम थातु कन्नूर
