Palaeolithic flint axe
Description
English: A worn, rolled and damaged lithic implement, identified as a Palaeolithic flint axe by the finder. The condition of the object, along with the fact that it is not truly bifacial, makes this identification questionable. The axe is roughly oval is plan and in cross-section, with flakes taken off both dorsal and ventral surfaces. There is some damage around the edge exposing a fresh mid-grey coloured flint. The surface has a reddish-brown patina.
