Español: En 1876 don Rafael Barazarte ordena construir el Palacio Matte y en 1883 fue el primer edificio privado en Santiago en contar con energía eléctrica, incluso antes que el Palacio de la Moneda. Nueve años después es comprada por don Claudio Matte.
La Universidad de Chile adquiere el inmueble en 1956, y ha sido sede de Ciencias Políticas y Administrativas, Escuela de Artes, entre otras actividades. Fue declarado Monumento Histórico por el Decreto Exento 329 el año 1995. |
