Description The historic Beohar-Palace, seat of Beohar-dynasty since c. 17th-18th century CE, in the old city of Jubbulpore/Jabalpur MP (India) where Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Nehru, Maulana Azad, Sardar Patel, Dr Rajendra Prasad, Vinoba Bhave, other national leaders and acclaimed litterateur used to stay. In December 1933, a session of All India Congress Committee CWC was held. Earlier in the history, in the later half of 18th century CE, the prison-cell of the Beohar-Palace was used to detain Thugs and Pindaris who were captured by the ruling Beohars. In transit, Clive’s messanger Jainulabdeen was also kept here. Distinguished visitors included Orientalist Vedic-scholar Colebrook, Governor Sly, Major-General Sleeman (later Sir), HH the Maharajas of Nagpur, Rewa, Maihar, Khairagarh, Panna, etc., to name a few.
