Hasilnya: 4 ton jagung! “Menakjubkan! Sekarang saya memanen jagung 2 kali setahun," ujarnya. Mr. Sayung, a farmer from Pekat village, suffered a major crop failure in 2015. He then used rainfall forecast information and planted other types of maize on a half-hectare plot of land. The result: 4 tons of corn! "Amazing! Now I harvest corn 2 times a year," said Pak Sayung. Mr. Sayung is one of the farmers who uses rainfall estimates compiled by World Neighbors (WN) and Institute of Technology Bandung (ITB) with USAID / OFDA assistance to help farmers reduce losses due to extreme weather events. This information is delivered to the village level each month so that farmers know, when, where and how much rain falls in an area, the opportune time to plant and what type of crops are most suitable to match the environment.
