| Description |
English: Paget family tomb Grade II* listed (as is the church of St Denys), this is the resting place for the Paget family, who became lords of Ibstock manor in 1469 and were important landowners in the parish well into the twentieth century. Thomas Paget was a
celebrated pioneer livestock farmer at the turn of the nineteenth century and, along with his friend Robert Bakewell of Dishley, bred top-quality rams. His son, Thomas junior, was a prominent banker, founding Pares Bank in 1800, which today is the Lloyds Bank in Leicester High Street. |
