Title
Breviarium Ottoniense
Edition First
Publisher
Johann Snell
Description
English: A page from Breviarium Ottoniense, which was a traditional catholic breviarium, printed in Odense in 1482. As such is was one of the first books (The Royal Library of Copenhagen ranks Snell's Obsidionis Rhodiae urbis descriptio, also from 1482, as the first) to be printed in Scandinavia. There is no longer a complete version of the original book in existence, but Snell printed a new edition in Lübeck in 1495, so the missing pages are known. The coloured letters were applied by hand after the printing.
