Description

Paeonia 'Crusader' 5/2021 xPeony- (Glasscock, 1940) (2-SD-RD) officinalis x albiflora xPeony Peony, Mature size: 30", 32” tall, semi-double scarlet red flowers, gold stamens, early bloomer, green carpels with red tip, round buds, medium stiff stems with reddish cast, and medium dark green foliage., USDA Hardiness Zone 3-8, Michigan Bloom Month 6b, In Garden Bed F4,03,4 for 3.7 YEARS (Wild). Planted in 2017.

Peony 'Crusader' (Glasscock, 1940) is an officinalis x albiflora hybrid: 32” tall, semi-double scarlet red flowers with 3 rows of petals surrounding gold stamens, early bloomer, green carpels with red tip, round buds, medium stiff stems with reddish cast, and medium dark green foliage. Lyman D Glasscock (1875-1972) Elmwood, Illinois which is about 25 miles northwest of Peoria. He was succeeded by his daughter Elizabeth Falk.
