Summary

[edit]
Description Located on Oxford St Paddington is this wonderful sunken garden. This place used to be a water reservoir that supplied the eastern suburbs with clean water from 1866. In 1990 the roof collapsed on top of a motor service station which had been located in the space beneath a park named Walter Read Reserve. The site has since been restored and conserved by the City of Sydney Council and part turned into a sunken garden as well as the preserved eastern water storage chamber.
