Summary
[edit]DescriptionPaddington Bear statue at Paddington station, London.jpg |
English: Spending time in magnificent stations is one of the pleasures of travelling by train.
If you find yourself in Paddington Station, Brunel's glorious cathedral in iron and glass, do take a minute to pop along and say hello to this famous lovable traveller. He is, of course, the world's coolest bear: Paddington. A giant amongst bears in children's literature, he is now also an international movie star. Kids love this wonderful statue at the station and are often crowding round it for pictures whenever I stop by. The two recent films have introduced the marmalade sandwich munching Peruvian exile to a whole new generation. Let's hear it for trains, books and bears. |
