Amavasya Padayal Food done in Hindu family once in a month to worship deceased ancestors

Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Among the many festivals that Hindus celebrate, amavasya is the one of the important. It is a month of worship to remember the deceased ancestors. We must cook drumstick tree leaves, banana fries, potato fries, rice, sambar (Like Dal along with any vegetable), rasam, vada, payasam (Kheer) and fried Papad. We usually cook rice and one curry in our home. So in childwood, I will wait for this amavasya eagerly to eat more items along with vada, payasam and papad. At least once in a month I enjoy big meal like Thali.
