ellowand was certainly a most loyal andfaithful employee. Head Offices, San Francisco Lieutenant F. A. Koester has just re-turned from France after having servedmore than six months overseas. He entered the service in training campin May, 1918, at Camp Lee, Va., and afterthree weeks at this camp was transferredto Washington barracks, D. C. After fiveweeks service at Washington barrackshe was sent overseas with the 603d En-gineers; afterwards transferred to the29th Engineers, and later transferred tothe 74th Engineers, the contingent withwhich he returned home. He has beendischarged from the service and willsoon be with us again. Mr. Koester in his association with thiscompany belonged to the line division ofthe general construction department, andhe will return to the same branch ofwork. E. H. Steele. Pacific Service Magazine VII Arc welding, adopted to prevent interruptions to war-timeproduction from worn or broken parts, has been retainedbecause of its proven economy and efficiency.
