Lieu-tenant Maslin iscommanding officerof the 452d TruckCompany, and hisduties consist oftaking truck trainsfrom the port ofdebarkation to thedifferent sectionsof the front. In this way he is having awonderful opportunity to see France. Hestates, however, that his conscience hurtshim somewhat because he is not in thefighting end of the game; in fact, he sayshe has not even been uncomfortable. Healso pays his respects to the French peas-ants, who seem to have unlimited confi-dence in both the skill and good natureof his truck drivers. He says they standaround in little groups in the middle ofthe street and no amount of honking hasthe slightest effect on them. LieutenantMaslin expresses his appreciation of thePacific Service Magazine, and says thatthe pictures of California scenery in par-ticular are of great interest to all the boj^s.
