They are no new discovery, forthe Blue Lakes Water Company was or-ganized before the great electric powerplant at Electra was ever dreamed of.But they are coming into prominence justnow by reason of the growing agitationfor increased hydro-electric power de-velopments throughout the State of Cali-fornia and elsewhere to take the place ofoil fuel that is so badly needed for otherpurposes. Elsewhere in this issue ofPacific Service Magazine will be found an article dealing with the Blue Lakesregion. The panoramas here presentedare of the chief features of interest. Thehighest altitude is that of Upper BlueLake, which lies upwards of 8000 feetabove sea level. Meadow Lake, which issome three miles away, is down in a hol-low some 450 feet below the level of BlueLakes. There is just one way to get fromone lake to the other and that is by hik-ing.
