fic Service section of theNational Electric Light Association was established in San Francisco in October,1912, and has forged steadily aheaduntil, at the present time, we have amembership of 327; and the personnelof the officers and executive committeeguarantees an active, beneficial year for1914. Considerable confusion, however,still exists in the minds of some of theemployees in relation to qualificationsfor membership in the company section,and many think that their interests arenot allied in any way with the work ofthe section. For their information, then,we will state that the N. E. L. A. is notaltogether a technical society but bearsa far-reaching and direct relation to allbranches of the central station organiza-tion in its broadest sense. The Com-mercial and Accounting departments arevitally interested; the Operating, Con-struction and Distribution departmentsequally so; in fact, no branch of theservice can afford not to be representedat the monthlv meetings. The annual dues amount to $5.00 or$0.4166 per month—the cost of twotickets to the movies once a month.
